Everywhere I look there’s jungle trees
An armadillo round the yard
A possum crawling in the mud
It’s hotter getting hotter somehow still
All this air must way a ton
The rain comes through and then is done.
Weird storms passing through with weirder sounds
It’s the lightning and the rain
A thunder clap that scares the dogs
This endless summer started back in march
All my longsleves out the door
An acclamation passing swift

Move in with family
Be closer to the sea
Turn this life around
Ignore the crumbling sound

The beach beneath the beach is calling me
Out beyond the wandering sea
Is this a shipwreck or a home
White waves getting higher off the bow
And when nothing’s going right
The lights are fading every night
Up all night and looking for a cure
This tension never ends
I walk around to clear my head
Dark shapes moving slowly in the fog
They’re hungry for this curse
The pale moon peaks around the clouds

One wishbone to break in two

The references I make are falling flat
They’re all a bit too on the nose
There should be subtlety, you know?
Talentless and lacking basic skills
Every syllable’s a mess
A jumbled shape of nothingness
Innovation rings with empty lines
There will never be new sounds
Please listen close and then forget
But hopefully you hear my nightly song
The echoes taking up my mind
The strange lights high above the stars
